LOTERÍA is a popular Mexican game similar to bingo but uses a deck of illustrated cards instead of numbered balls. Each card has a number and an image associated with it. The traditional illustrations vary a bit, but the numbers and their corresponding objects have remained the same for generations.
This reinterpretation of the classic game cards is a tongue-in-cheek Americanized view of the cards. While recognizing the traditional iconography of each card, this series brings humor and a taste of vintage "male physique" magazines.
I created the series for the "MANTASTIC NORTHWEST" invitational show. Several of the cards reference Pacific Northwest themes and iconography.
